Cauvery Issue: TN govt. to hold all party meeting on Feb 22

According to an official release today, the Tamil Nadu Government will hold an all party meeting on Thursday to discuss the Supreme Courts verdict on the Cauvery dispute.

The meeting, which will be held at the Secretariat at 10.30 a.m, will take the views of leaders of all parties and consult legal experts for the government to take action to safeguard and protect the interest of the farmers, said the release.

Earlier today, the DMK had announced an all party meeting on the Cauvery issue. According to agency reports, actor Kamal Hassan who will be launching his own party this week, has agreed to take part in the meeting, the date of which is yet to be announced.

“As an opposition party, we have decided to convene an all party meeting and will invite the AIADMK which is the ruling party… we will also invite the BJP,” said DMK leader MK Stalin.
