Its rival automaker at home, Hyundai will showcase the i20 hatchback, the Ioniq hybrid sedan and the N performance sports car based on the i30 concept. However, its main attention will be on the new generation Hyundai Santro will share most of its design cues with the new Grand i10.

However many automakers such as Audi, Datsun, Fiat, Ford, Jeep, Jaguar-Land Rover, Nissan and Volkswagen  will not be taking part in this auto expo and  the high costs associated with the expo has been cited as a reason for the same. While none of the manufacturers revealed the exact costs, it is understood that the tab for large exhibits can cross Rs 30 crore for eight days of the show. However the SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) denied any news of hike in the floor rates stating that the rate hasn’t changed since the last 6 years.  Even Volkswagen has also taken back its participation in global events in the aftermath of the emissions scandal and it will have its consequences at Auto Expo 2018 too.
