Tamil superstar Ajith’s long-awaited film Valimai, which is set to release on February 24 has set the advance booking counters buzzing after a dry spell due to the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2022.

The film was earlier supposed to release on Pongal this year, but due to the third wave, it was postponed.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Valimai is also the superstar’s return to the big screen after Nerkonda Paarvai (2019), which was also by the same director.

Apart from Tamil Nadu, the action thriller is also generating a lot of excitement in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana where the actor enjoys a large fan-base. The film’s premiere sales are doing good in the USA as well.

Along with Tamil, Valimai is releasing in Telugu and Hindi, making it Ajith’s first pan-Indian film. It also stars Huma Qureshi, making it her second Tamil film after Pa Ranjith’s blockbuster Kaala (2018), which saw her sharing screen space with superstar Rajinikanth.

Ajith’s fans on social media have been regularly trending hashtags related to Valimai on social media since it was announced in January 2019, with the most popular being #ValimaiUpdate.
