ACJ Wrap: Covid-19 in West Bengal

The state of West Bengal on 8th of February, 2022 during the third wave of the Corona Virus pandemic.

After a bulk of positive cases here comes a positive news for the Bengal citizens, the Covid-19 graph maintained its downward trend on 7th of February, 2022. 

With the declining cases in Covid-19 in the state of West Bengal the government of West Bengal had announced the reopening of schools from class 8-12, colleges and universities on February 3. 

Amidst the Corona virus pandemic the highly affected sector have been the education sector, children have dropped out of schools in the state link for the drop put data.

Hence the West Bengal government has taken initiative to encourage students who dropped out of schools during the pandemic to continue their education. An open air-classroom initiative is taken by the West Bengal government for students of class 1-7 in the state from 7th of February, 2022. Paray Shikshalaya is a community-based learning system.

The school and college campuses came to life on the day of Saraswati Puja this year as students turned up in large numbers to offer ‘Pushpanjali’ to the goddess of learning on 5th of february, 2022.

The Chief Minister tweeted in Bengal.

“Goddess Saraswati, give us knowledge, impart a cultured way of thinking among us, light up our minds with the flame of Spring. Happy Saraswati Puja on Basant Panchami to everyone.”
